Doane men’s tennis will advance to the Great Plains Athletic Conference tournament despite a 3-6 loss April 25 in Fremont and the women’s season ended after a 0-9 loss. Men’s coach Pete Fiumefreddo said the team started slow in doubles and played better in singles.
Sophomore Karlee Long has brought a splash of sunshine to the women’s tennis team. Since the transfer from Florida State arrived this year, the Tigers have matched their 2-10 record from last season and barely missed a chance to play in the GPAC (Great Plains Athletic Conference) finals.
As he gets in his car to leave golf practice, Trevor Rosenberger has a lot on his mind. School. Work. Choir practice. Graduation. Golf tournaments. And on top of all of that: Going home to his wife and son. As a senior member of the Doane men’s golf team, the Colorado Springs native had to learn how to balance his many activities with his family.
Doane softball lost two close games in a doubleheader against Dana on Tuesday. The Tigers were unable to hold off the Vikings, losing the first game 3-1 and the second 5-2. Doane scored their lone run of the game in the first inning, with senior Hannah Kroese rounding third on freshman Brooke Sampson’s double.
